Every USMNT player in the top 5 European leagues

A number of US men's national team players have stood out in Europe this season while others have endured difficult campaigns.

The likes of Christian Pulisic and Weston McKennie have enjoyed fine seasons in Italy's Serie A with AC Milan and Juventus to propel their clubs into next season's Champions League.

However, some USA internationals have found life very difficult in Europe with minutes hard to come by for teams from Germany to England.

Here's how all current USMNT players have fared so far in Europe's top five leagues.

Tyler Adams

It's been a year since Tyler Adams was forgotten in the Premier League, as the midfielder has played just 109 minutes due to a series of serious injuries over the past eight months. The former Leeds United player has managed just three appearances for Bournemouth since joining last summer.

When Adams is fully fit for the upcoming campaign, Bournemouth could be a dark horse for a UEFA Conference or Europa League place.

Although Fulham sit 13th in the Premier League, Tim Ream and Antonee Robinson have played their part in keeping the team in the running and away from relegation.

The veteran Ream had a great start to the season but saw his minutes drop by the end of the season. However, Robinson has continued to improve for Marco Silva's side and has generated interest from English giants Liverpool as he has notched up six assists in 34 games as a defender.

Continuing the theme of USMNT defenders in England, Chris Richards' stock continues to rise with each game played at Crystal Palace.

Although Palace have endured a challenging season, things are looking up under new manager Oliver Glasner – and Richards is confident he will be at the center of the former Eintracht Frankurt coach's project.

Sheffield United's relegation has been confirmed with just 16 points from 35 games played, but don't let that put you off the hidden gem that is Auston Trusty.

With the departure of many players from Sheffield, Trusty could be an excellent backup given his experience in the Premier League and Championship.

Brenden Aaronson was hoping to hit the ground running when he arrived at Leeds United in July 2022 from Austrian side RB Salzburg, but his one goal in 42 games saw the versatile striker seek a loan move to the Bundesliga and Union Berlin.

The former Philadelphia Union man has yet to really find his place in Germany, scoring two goals in 27 appearances as the Union battle for Bundesliga survival.

Perhaps one of the USMNT's underrated defenders is plying his trade midweek at TSG Hoffenheim.

Chandler – who has been capped 195 times for Germany — has played just 16 minutes this season and recorded one assist and could be looking to move elsewhere this summer with just one year left on his contract.

Although the goal output is not where he would like it to be, he has been shown flashes here and there of a defensive player who can wreak havoc on Bundesliga backlines.

Joe ScallyJoe Scally

Like Wolfsburg, Borussia Monchengladbach have also endured a difficult season with just four points off the relegation zone.

However, USMNT duo Jordan Pefok and Joe Scally proved their worth to Gladbach. Pefok had five goals and three assists in 24 games before returning to the Union this summer, while Scally registered one goal and three assists as he made his 100th appearance for the club despite being just 21.

Johnny CardosoJohnny Cardoso

Real Betis are still in the hunt for a place in Europe for the 2024/25 season as they sit just two points behind Real Sociedad in the La Liga table.

Johnny Cardoso has played less than 1,000 minutes this season but has proven to be a reliable option when called upon with one goal and two assists in 12 games in the middle of the park.

Like Cardoso, Luca de la Torre is another USMNT midfielder plying his trade in Spain's first division.

Celta Vigo currently sit five points clear of the relegation zone in La Liga, and may look to lean on de la Torre in the latter stages of the campaign to help avoid relegation.

Weston McKennieWeston McKennie

Moving on to Italy, Weston McKennie enjoyed one of the best seasons by a US midfielder with seven assists for the Old Lady.

The former Schalke 04 player has shown confidence with over 2,400 minutes played this season and helped the Italian giants secure Champions League qualification despite the club being tied on points due to financial irregularities.

Tim Weah joined Juventus in the summer and it has taken him some time to adapt to the Serie A style, but the Italian outfit will be hoping that he can find his form for the wing-back in the coming seasons.

Christian PulisicChristian Pulisic

Leaving the crowded dressing room at Stamford Bridge for the San Siro with AC Milan may have been the smartest move of Christian Pulisic's career.

The player from Hershey, Pennsylvania has collected 10 goals and six assists in Serie A despite the team failing to win the league title.

Yunus Musah has been in and out of the team in the second half of the season and has added two assists in 28 games.

Another USMNT understudy is Emmanuel Sabbi, a left winger who has scored five goals and one assist in 27 games for Le Havre in France.

Although Le Havre are level on points with 16th-placed Metz, they are currently leading on goal difference and will look to widen the gap between themselves and relegation with the help of Sabbi in the final games of the season.
