Father, son and stepfather all enjoy aces girls in one month! – Golf News

Father, son and step-father all remarkably enjoyed their virginity-in-one holes in one month!

After a trip to watch the second day of The Open at Royal Troon in July, father and son Carl Ham-Howes (49) and Lewis Ham-Howes (18) were clearly encouraged by the quality of golf they had been watching.

On their trip to Scotland, the pair, who are members of La Moye in Jersey, stayed at Cameron House, Loch Lomond and played the Wee Demon golf course, a tricky nine-hole course on the banks of the loch.

On the 17th hole, a 151-yard par 3, Carl hit a 6-iron that bounced twice off the green and disappeared into the hole. After playing golf for 36 years, interesting both right and left and never coming close before, it was time to appreciate the 20.3-handicapper player as he took his ball from the hole.

Just three weeks later, Lewis' stepfather, Paul Soares, 46, was playing in a tournament at his local club at St Clements in Jersey, and on the 5th, a 134-yard par 3, the 11.7-handicapper also bogeyed for the first time. the ace.

Ironically, Lewis sent a message to his father saying: “You and Paul both have holes in one, me in the next….!” And he was not wrong.

The 16.9-handicapper, playing in the Jersey Golf Junior Festival the following week at St Clements, stepped up to the par-4 4th hole, 275 yards from the pin.

A hole that could be putt by most, Lewis drove it with his 3 wood and delivered a perfect shot to clear the hazard, staying just shy of the green and rolling the hole.

A Golf England spokesman said: “While the odds of a hole-in-one are around 12,000-1 for novice golfers, the odds of getting a hole-in-one on a par-4 (albatross) are estimated to be 6-1 million.

“Carl and Paul's achievements are incredible and Lewis's is amazing, and the fact that they all got their first in a month is amazing. For everyone who still dreams of one, it puts that drive and belief – that's why we love this game!”
