Jasmine Sussex, a local mother and breastfeeding advocate with 15 years of experience, is now facing legal trouble for publicly stating that she does not believe men can breastfeed. When a transgender man wrote about breastfeeding his baby, Jasmine replied that “only mothers breastfeed.”
As a result, she was dismissed as a volunteer by the Australian Breastfeeding Association following complaints, and her posts were removed by the eSafety Commissioner.
Jasmine is now facing a serious charge under the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Act, accused of inciting hatred and undermining the promotion of single mothers to breastfeed.
