7 possible replacements for Philippe Clement
Glasgow Rangers have the chance to win a domestic cup double in a few weeks' time as they aim to win the Scottish Cup for the second time in three years at Hampden.
Celtic are standing in their way, but if Philippe Clement can guide the Gers to a famous victory, it could be a successful season.
In terms of picking the club up from the doldrums under Michael Beale and giving them hope, then, of course, having the chance to add the Scottish Cup to the League Cup from the start of this term is a fantastic endeavour.
However, as many senior players in the team let the whole team down, dropping points when it matters most, a sense of Deja Vue, as this situation has happened several times in recent seasons.
The Belgian player must rebuild the playing squad, remove those who do not have the mental strength to perform under pressure, bring in his own targets in the hope that they can inspire the club to success.
The 50-year-old has plenty of credit in the bank for the way he has steered the club out of trouble, but if the same players drop him next season after failing to sell them, his position could be in jeopardy. ?

Kevin Muscat
Port of Shanghai
After seeing Celtic achieve great success under Australian coach Ange Postecoglou, it looked as if Rangers would go down the same path when Beale was sacked last October.
Muscat followed Ange at Yokohama F. Marinos in 2021, winning the J1 title in 2022 with the team.
Although Clement got the job, Muscat said he had spoken to the club about the vacant role.
2
Frank Lampard
Unattached (last full-time job: Everton)
The former Chelsea manager is one of the names linked with Rangers following Beale's sacking.
His last spell in charge came at Everton, where he was sacked in January 2023, no longer with the club at the time of writing.
Although he reportedly held talks with Ibrox management about a return to management, Lampard was not given an interview, thus not getting the job. However, wouldn't he give it to her next time?
3
Pascal Jansen
Unattached (Last job: AZ Alkmaar)
The Dutchman impressed with AZ Alkmaar during his four years in charge of the club, leading to a top-five finish in the Eredivisie and this attracted attention from the Ibrox club last year.
Before Clement arrived, Jansen was one of the names linked with a move to Glasgow to succeed Beale.
Nothing happened, and he was “surprised” to consider the role during an interview after it was filled by Belgium.
Jansen was fired by AZ in January 2024 after almost four years in charge of the club.
4
Graham Potter
Unattached (Last job: Chelsea)
The Englishman reportedly turned down the chance to manage Rangers in October after being approached to take over from Beale, but the former Brighton and Hove Albion boss was in no rush to return to management.
Following several successful seasons on the south coast, Chelsea paid a reported £21.5m to bring him to London to succeed Thomas Tuchel.

Seven months later, he was gone and has been unemployed ever since, although there have been plenty of offers.
While he may be at another club while Rangers look for another new manager, can he still be a real club?
5
Kjetil Knutsen
Bodo/Glimt
The Norwegian coach has done wonders at Bodo/Glimt since taking over in 2018. Not only did he lead the team to three league titles, but he also improved in Europe, beating Celtic 5-1 on aggregate in the Europa Conference League in the 2021/22 campaign.
Reporter Alan Nixon said in October that the Light Blues would speak to Knutsen about the open managerial role at Ibrox.
However, Clement was appointed soon after, and this may have been the club's last chance to sign him, as if he continues to do well in Norway, his next move could be to England.
6
Derek McInnes
Kilmarnock
Towards the end of 2017, Rangers were looking for their third permanent manager in 12 months after the sacking of Pedro Caixinha.
McInnes, who went on to impress at Aberdeen, was offered the job, but ultimately turned down the chance to manage the club he played for between 1995 and 2000.
His name was raised again when Beale was sacked last year, but nothing came of it, apart from his fitness with current club Kilmarnock, who have led them to fourth place in the top flight this season.
7
Oliver Glasner
The Crystal Palace
Glasner took over at Palace in February and, since his appointment, the Eagles have been in strong form.
Recently, they have beaten Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United, and the future looks really bright under the Austrian.
He has also been linked with the Rangers job in October. Glasner was the man in charge of Eintracht Frankfurt when they beat the Light Blues in the 2022 Europa League final, clearly proving that he is capable of success at the big stages.
Glasner appears to be another name that has hit the net, with Bayern Munich reportedly showing an interest in the Palace boss, but he looks set to continue with the London club after enjoying a strong start. the club.
