Former NBA star JJ Redick is back in the running for the head coaching job at the Los Angeles Lakers.
Redick was initially the leading candidate before the Lakers pursued UConn's Dan Hurley. After Hurley's decision to stay at UConn, New Orleans Pelicans head coach James Borrego emerged as a major contender. Now, Redick appears to have regained his position as the favorite.
According to Marc Stein at Substack, Redick appears to have earned his place as the Lakers' top coaching staff, as long as he wants the job.
