JJ Redick's Plan Revealed LeBron James and Anthony Davis

New Lakers coach JJ Redick reportedly outlined his plan for LeBron James and Anthony Davis during an “amazing” meeting with team management recently, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania, Sam Amick and Jovan Buha.

“Redick described the system that was built into the system, focusing on increasing the involvement of Anthony Davis, especially late in games, and reducing the constant ball handling work on James by using him more off the ball,” the report said.

“Keeping James, who turns 40 in December, fresh off the start of the regular season and playoffs will be critical.”

Making sure James keeps up his promise will be an interesting challenge for Redick.

The former Lakers coach, Darvin Ham, wanted to reduce James' minutes when he took over two years ago, but that plan was quickly scrapped. The team was relying heavily on James' production, and it was clear that he didn't want to stay on the bench for long.

If Redick has similar ambitions, he may not be in the best position to rule, given his lack of high-level coaching experience.

His time coaching the Lakers will be an interesting test of his relationship with James.
