According to Haynes, the bulls prioritized getting a trade Zach LaVine first and foremost this off season:

Haynes reported that the Bulls have prioritized trying to find a trade to get Zach LaVine out of negotiations with DeRozan, who ended a three-year, $85 million contract with Chicago this offseason.

And it's not hard to figure out why, since LaVine — even when healthy — isn't a big impact player in the losing department. And his health is in big question now that he just missed the bulk of 2023-24 with a season-ending injury.

Of course, the problem is LaVine's salary, as the former UCLA standout has three years and about $138 million left on his contract, making a trade very difficult to find.

According to The Athletic, at least one team has some level of interest in LaVine: the Sacramento Kings. The Athletic reported that:

He remains the most watched name in the Kings as the week goes on. Zach LaVine is rumored, and league sources confirm that Sacramento has some level of interest, but he will come with a tricky contract situation. LaVine has three years and $137.80 left on his current deal, an unimpressive number considering the Kings' burgeoning financial picture. Any deal this time around, league sources say, could put the Kings in need of a boost to take LaVine's big contract.

Our Scotto, however, reported that the great extension of the Kings by Malik Monk may have cooled their interest in LaVine:

Looking ahead, the Bulls are continuing to search for a new home for guard Zach LaVine, league sources said. Some rival managers believe that a four-year, $78 million deal with Malik Monk will exclude Sacramento from any LaVine negotiations. As previously reported by HoopsHype before the trade deadline, Kings guard Kevin Huerter, who is also a trade candidate, has admirers in the Chicago front office.

With that said, good luck to the Bulls trying to land a trade for LaVine.
