What a wild third round it was at the 2024 Rocket Mortgage Classic! Due to the inclement weather, golf fans had to wait for the players to play after a rain delay – but rest assured, when the action started, it was a lot of fun.

The low round on Saturday went to amateur, Luke Clanton, who shot a 65 to push himself up to 7th on the leaderboard. And with the rest of the players getting slower – with a seven-shot 66 on the day – there are now 13 more players within four shots of the lead as Sunday's Round 4 gets underway.

As we head into Sunday's final round from Detroit Golf Club, everyone is looking up to Akshay Bhatia and Aaron Rai, both 17 under and at the top of the leaderboard after Round 2.

Bhatia is hunting his third PGA Tour victory, while Rai is looking for his first. The first one spoke briefly about what will take the height above the pack and finish the job on Sunday.

“I love the feeling of all the adrenaline and the support from the fans, so I'm excited about it [Sunday],” said Bhatia. “This is what I want, I want to win. It will be interesting whether it happens or not and just to be in this position, it's great.”

Meanwhile, Rai seems to be soaking in the moment and trying to enjoy the run he's been on for the past few rounds this week. He seems excited to be paired with Bhatia again for Sunday's final round at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.

“Yes, it's always fun to play with Akshay. We got to know each other well, and it was fun [Saturday] that we both play well and keep the rounds going and get to know each other from time to time,” said Rai. “Akshay has been playing some really good golf in the last few months, so I'm sure it's going to be great tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to it.”

While we'll all have to tune in to see how the tournament goes, it's one thing for us do know the payout in this year's Rocket Mortgage Classic, with the field competing on a sweet payday: $1.656 million for a $9.2 million purse (an increase from last year's $8.8 million).
