Portugal and Slovenia announced their Uefa Euro 2024 Last-16 fixtures in Frankfurt.

Cristiano Ronaldo is aiming to end his long run without scoring at a major tournament, having failed to score in his last seven appearances for Portugal at major tournaments.

The captain of Portugal finally scored a goal in the Euro or World Cup against Ghana in 2022 and was joined by a number of attacking stars in the Selecao's list as they returned their first choice team as they rested a number of players in their surprise 2-0 loss to Georgia.

Portugal XI: Diogo Costa, Cancelo, Ruben Dias, Pepe, Nuno Mendes, Palhinha, Vitinha, Bruno Fernandes, Rafael Leao, Ronaldo, Bernardo Silva

Skipper and left-back Erik Janza has been suspended for Slovenia, replaced by Alanyaspor's Jure Balkovec as they look to end their four-match Euro campaign.

Slovenia XI: Oblak, Karnicnik, Drkusic, Bijol, Balkovec; Stojanovic, Elsnik, Gnezda Cerin, Mlakar; Sporar, Sesko

Portugal won Group F but had a tougher time than many expected on the road, including a 2-0 loss in their opening game against a Georgia side playing in their first major tournament.

The Selecao scored the winner in the 92nd minute to come from behind to defeat the Czech Republic in their opening game and beat a dangerous Turkiyes side 3-0.

Slovenia came through as one of the best third-placed teams, picking up the first of three points with a 1-1 draw against Denmark in their opening game.

They ended up denying victory to Serbia with an equalizer in the 95th minute and then held England 0-0 which put them in the knockout stages.

The winners of the tournament will face France on July 5 in Stuttgart.
