Steven Stamkos Scores 100th Career Playoff Point – Hockey Writers – NHL News

Steven Stamkos hit a milestone when he opened the scoring with a power play goal in Game 4 of the First Round. He recorded his 100th career point. He becomes the 57th player to reach the mark.

Stamkos has been the backbone of the Lightning during this playoff series against the Florida Panthers. He had a goal in all four games. Three of these goals came on the power play. During this time, he averaged a goal per game and over a point per game for the first time in his career. Stamkos has five points total in the series so far.

His goal was the first time that Nyazi opened the scoring in this series. The goal was Stamkos' 20th playoff power play goal, and he is one goal shy of 50 playoff goals.

Stamkos is making the most of his final games before becoming a free agent — and likely his final game as a member of the team that drafted him in 2008.

The Lightning face elimination in the first round. They trailed 3-0 in the series. They are looking to avoid being swept in the first round for the first time since an infamous 2019 sweep at the hands of the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Many things lightning…
