A stacked leaderboard will play for a record purse at the PGA Championship on Sunday at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Ky.

Xander Schauffele and Collin Morikawa lead the PGA at 15 under, with Sahith Theegala (14 under) back and Bryson DeChambeau, Shane Lowry and Viktor Hovland (13 under) two shots back.

The PGA of America announced on Saturday that this year's prize money has increased to $18.5 million – a million more than last year – and the winner will take home $3.33 million. Second place ($1.99 million) and third place ($1.26 million) will also earn seven figures.

Compared to golf's other majors, the Masters had $20 million in revenue last month. The 2023 US Open was $20 million and the 2023 Open Championship was $16.5 million. The Players Championship was played for $25 million in March.

The PGA Tour's Signature Events have a purse of $20 million, while the LIV Golf tournaments are played for $25 million, although $20 million of that is earmarked for individual tournaments while $5 million is for team tournaments.
