Cristiano Ronaldo asks Al Nassr to sign two of his former teammates

Cristiano Ronaldo wants Al Nassr to sign team-mates Casemiro and Nacho Fernandez this summer, according to a report.

Al Nassr's penalty kick defeat to Al Hilal in the King Cup final on Friday left Ronaldo in tears, with videos of his emotions circulating on social media. Al Hilal also ran away with this year's Saudi Pro League title, finishing with 96 points to Al Nassr's 84.

MARCA reports Ronaldo did not respond well to the mistakes of Al Nassr during his time in Saudi Arabia and his influence within the club is increasing to bring fame.

Ronaldo wants to build Al Nassr in the image of Real Madrid, and will look to do so in part by signing two players he worked with during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Casemiro, who is now playing for Manchester United, has been approached by Ronaldo about moving to the Middle East. The midfielder endured a trial 2023/24 season at Old Trafford and his under-performance saw him left out of Brazil's squad for this summer's Copa America, despite being their captain.

Madrid captain Nacho is also on Al Nassr's radar. The centre-back is looking to leave Spain and has been linked with Ronaldo recently.

Nacho was looking to join a club in Major League Soccer, but now this route seems illegal and he is looking at other options. Italian champions Inter have been linked with the 34-year-old, who has been named in Spain's squad ahead of Euro 2024.

Ronaldo's plans to recruit these stars are dependent on the approval of the Saudi government, which is expected to make a decision in the next two days.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo will join the Portugal squad ahead of their Euro 2024 campaign.
