Real Madrid confirm the return date of Thibaut Courtois

Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois will return to Real Madrid for Saturday's game against Cadiz.

Courtois suffered an ACL injury in the pre-season but was hoping to return in April, before suffering a knee injury that many feared would end his campaign.

However, the Belgian returned to the bench for the Champions League semi-final first leg against Bayern Munich and Ancelotti has revealed that Courtois will return between Madrid and Cadiz in La Liga at the weekend.

“He's alive,” Ancelotti said of Cotois. “Tomorrow he will play after a long time.

“It's good news that you're back, as it is [Eder] Militao. He can contribute. He is alive. He is very happy. We're glad you're back.”

It has even been suggested that Ancelotti could turn to Courtois against Bayern on Wednesday, but the manager has confirmed that he will keep his faith in Andriy Lunin for now.

“The final match we are thinking of is on Wednesday against Bayern, where Lunin will play,” said Ancelotti when asked if Cotois would start the Champions League final. “Then, we'll see.”

Ancelotti added: “We are only thinking about the final we have on Wednesday. We don't think about what can happen in a month. in London.”

Defender Eder Militao, who has played six games since returning from an ACL injury, will play again against Cadiz in a bid to strengthen his fitness before the end of the season.

“Militao will play tomorrow to improve,” Ancelotti confirmed.
