NAOYA Inoue and Luis Nery both tied the scores, ahead of their Tokyo Dome match tomorrow. Making weight in Japan has not always been easy for Nery who failed to make 118 against Shinsuke Yamanaka back in 2018. There was no such game this time as he recorded the boxes before the chance of a lifetime.
Sky Sports and ESPN+ are televising a significant portion of the card, giving fight fans a chance to enjoy one of the top pound-for-pound talents. Lethal to the body, Inoue tends to get his business done quickly, and if Nery starts slow, as has happened in previous fights, then the curtain can close in an instant. Each fighter appeared fit and comfortable at the weigh-in.
There are three world title fights on the packed undercard, including one half of the Moloney brothers, Jason, defending the WBO bantamweight belt. The brotherly love continues as Takuma Inoue gets the chance to be part of the cast supporting his sibling, defending his WBA bantamweight belt.
Seigo Yuri Akui is also putting his WBA flyweight crown on the line. Irishman TJ Doheny is also playing a different round of eight against Bryl Bayogos. Both boxers were within the 122-pound weight limit.
