Anger vs. Usyk Rematch Scheduled for October 12 or 13 in Saudi Arabia

Saudi promoter Turki Alalshikh is planning a rematch between heavyweights Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk on October 12 or 13 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The two undefeated champions will fight on May 18 in a vacant heavyweight championship at the Kingdom Arena, Riyadh.

Worry Again

Given Fury's injury problems, it may be a stretch for Alalshikh to think he'll be able to return to the ring in October when he faces Usyk.

Fury is 35 years old and has a lot of miles on the odometer from the punishment he received in his three fights with Deontay Wilder.

Those were not easy highway miles for Fury. It's a long shot to get Fury back in the ring for a rematch with Usyk in October.

Fury-Usyk has a rematch stipulation for their May 18 fight, so the loser is expected to bring it up to force a second fight. This could be bad for the boxing community if the May 18th fight is exciting or boring, and there is a good chance it will be one of those two things.

The worst thing that could happen is that Syk wins both fights with Fury, which would put the Saudis in a position to decide whether Tyson should fight Anthony Joshua and lose back to back or go with Oleksandr as his opponent.

Fury vs. Joshua: A Potential Blockbuster

His Excellency Turki Alalshikh told ESPN that he is interested in a fight between Fury and former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in March next year. There is no word on whether that fight will depend on one or both of these men winning their previous matches.

If Fury loses one or both of his two fights against Usyk, it wouldn't be great for the fans to see him face Joshua in March 2025. However, given the interest of UK fans to see Fury and Joshua fight, I don't think it matters if Tyson or AJ What will they lose?

Joshua doesn't have an opponent yet, but he could fight Filip Hrgovic for the IBF title if the winner of the Fury vs. Syk.
