Firebirds outlast Wranglers in OT to square series | TheAHL.com

Devin Shore scored at 7:54 of overtime to give Coachella Valley a 4-3 win over Calgary in Game 2 of a back-and-forth Pacific Division semifinal Sunday afternoon.

The best-of-three series is tied at one game back in Palm Desert, where the Firebirds will host Game 3 on Wednesday.

Shore's game-winner was his first postseason goal since 2015, when he was a 20-year-old fresh out of the University of Maine skating for the Texas Stars.

Game 2 was scoreless until late in the second half, when Kole Lind the goal gave Coachella Valley a 1-0 lead.

Cole Schwindt two points again Sam Morton once in the third period as Calgary built leads of 2-1 and 3-2, but the Firebirds responded by tying it both times, Max McCormickA goal with 5:27 left in the final forced overtime.

Lind, McCormick and Andrew Poturalski all had a goal and an assist for Coachella Valley, which has lost seven of its last eight games. Chris Driedger (1-1) made 30 saves to earn the first win of his 10-year season.

Dustin Wolf (3-1) stopped 26 shots against the Wranglers.
