Boxing Returns Saturday Night At Tropicana Atlantic City, Tickets On Sale Now

Professional boxing makes its triumphant return to the Boardwalk in Atlantic City on Saturday, May 11

After running successful club shows in New York City's Broadway district for the last year and a half, Larry Goldberg of Boxing Insider Promotions is returning to his hometown. The venue is the Tropicana Hotel & Casino, where the venue hosts an exclusive card showcasing the best young talent in New Jersey, New York and beyond.

Junior middleweight JUSTIN FIGUEROA (8-0, 6 KO's) is a product of Atlantic City, well known in the community for his activities not only in boxing but also in other sports, especially football, where he played for Holy Spirit. High school and thoughts of playing for a Division I program. Justin is also an active member of the Atlantic City Beach Patrol.

As Figueroa moves up the pro ranks, he aims to, in his words, “put Atlantic City on my back.”

Figueroa's May 11 opponent in a six-round fight is tough Antoni Armas of Maracay, Venezuela.

Junior featherweight JOHN LEONARDO (10-1-1, 4 KO's) hails from Manalapan Township. He will face FRANK GONZALEZ (12-5, 6 KO's), who has been at that level in his last two fights. Gonzalez, who fights out of the Tampa Bay area, previously fought for the WBO Latino belt and the WBA Fedecentro belt in the bantamweight division.

In addition, former heavyweight champion LARRY HOLMES will be on hand to meet and greet fans at the May 11 show.
