Man United manager Erik ten Hag reacts with embarrassment against Crystal Palace
Manchester United were well beaten by Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Monday night.
The Red Devils lost 4-0 against Oliver Glasner's men.
Erik ten Hag's season is getting worse as his side have lost 13 times in the Premier League this season, which is a club record.
The Premier League giants have scored 81 goals this season, the highest in the club's history since 1976-77.
It seems that nothing can go wrong for the Red Devils as their injury list is piling up and their in-form players are not showing their best form.
Man United is currently in eighth place in the league and they were hoping that the season will end soon.
Ten Hag told Sky after the match, as reported by Ben Jacobs:
“It is clear, this is not going well. It's not good enough anymore. We are very disappointed. We had to keep fighting like the fans did.
“I will continue to fight. I prepared the team the best way I could. It wasn't good enough and I have to take responsibility for that. I will get some energy and prepare for Sunday's game [against Arsenal].
When asked if he could replace him at Old Trafford, the under-fire manager said:
“Definitely [I am the right manager to turn things around]. If the right players are there, then we have a good team. But if we miss almost all of our background history we run into problems. “
Crystal Palace have now done a league double against Man United.
The recent defeat has put Man United's goal difference in a bad position and qualification for Europe next season looks very slim.
Man United looked out of ideas
Man United's defeat leaves them in eighth place, outside the European places, with three games remaining, including Sunday's tough meeting against Arsenal.
The Red Devils looked miserable against Palace and despite having so much experience, they looked like an inexperienced and under-prepared team.
The most obvious example is Casemiro's poor performance in central defence. Although it is clear that the players must be blamed in some way, the manager must also take responsibility for playing him instead and leaving him struggling throughout the game.
