Taylor Pendrith was aided in his quest to defeat Byron Nelson with clubs from Ping, Srixon, Cleveland and Odyssey.
The 32-year-old Canadian used his Odyssey Jailbird Versa to hole a short birdie putt Sunday on the par-5 final to win his first PGA TOUR title in 74 starts.
Pendrith was more than a month away from winning.
“Everything was a blur, the last hour,” said Pendrith. “To finally get it done feels unbelievable.
“I've bogeyed a 54 hole before and I haven't,” Pendrith said. “I learned a lot from that and I tried to be better today. I stayed in my lane and just put my head down and went to work. Coming out on top feels ridiculous.”
Once he's gone, he usually turns to his Ping G430 LST driver. He has a low-spin version of his G430 driver that is up nine degrees.
Pendrith also uses the Ping G430 Max 3-wood and the Ping G425 Max 7-wood.
His yardage hack can be a bit of a puzzle given that he has 2 and 3-irons in his bag as well. Those irons are both Srixon ZXs with Project X HZRDUS Smoke Black 6.5 100 True Temper shafts.
For all other aron arrays, Pendrith turns to the Srixon ZX7 Mk II range of form 4-9 irons.
He uses four wedges from the Cleveland RTX 6 Tour Rack since he doesn't have a sinker in his rig collection. He starts his wedges at 46-10 Mid, reaches 52-10 Mid, reaches 56-10 Mid, and finishes at 60-9 Full.
His Odyssey Jailbird Versa served him well in his search for Byron Nelson.
