Chelsea are now ready to sell Pochettino's beloved mainstay for less than £30m

Chelsea are now ready to sell the player, who was key for Mauricio Pochettino at the end of the season, for less than £30m.

It has been widely reported that the players in west London could end up facing charges from the Premier League if they do not raise money by selling players, even if that has not stopped them from signing new ones.

The Blues are close to starting their summer business…

Chelsea look set to complete a deal for Palmeiras star Estevao to start their summer transfer business, with the top-class youngster worth more than £50 million including add-ons according to Fabrizio Romano.

It comes after Chelsea agreed a deal with Estevao to join, with the Brazilian talent set to seal a move to Stamford Bridge – adding to Todd Boehly's ever-growing list of the most exciting new signings in football.

Moises Caicedo

£115 million

Enzo Fernandez

£106.8 million

Mykhailo Mudryk

£89.1 million

Wesley Fofana

£70 million

Marc Cucurella

£60 million

However, in order to comply with the PSR and avoid major problems, Chelsea is intended to sell a number of stars to balance the books. Conor Gallagher may even be sold to Chelsea, as his transfer would count as pure profit in the eyes of FFP.

The 24-year-old's contract also expires next year, meaning Boehly and Boehly could opt to do business for him this summer rather than lose Gallagher for free in just over 12 months.

“Decisions, especially on domestic players and academy players, will have to be taken before June 30,” said Sky journalist Dharmesh Sheth about the sale of players earlier this year.

“So keep an eye on the likes of Conor Gallagher, keep an eye on the likes of Trevoh Chalobah as well, because selling those players would represent pure profit for Chelsea, which they might need in the next financial year from July 1 onwards.”

That's not even counting the number of senior players on loan, but now there's an update on how Chelsea will continue with Chalobah.

Chelsea are ready to sell Chalobah for less than £30 million

The versatile defender played 14 of Chelsea's last 15 league games of the season after returning from injury, starting 10 of them and becoming Pochettino's mainstay in their run to the Conference League play-off spot.

Pochettino, according to The Telegraph, rates Chalobah as one of Chelsea's best defenders. The outlet, however, claim that Chelsea are ready to sell Chalobah for around £25 million regardless – with last summer's price tag unchanged. The 24-year-old player could find himself an asset to interested parties if Chalobah is flexible and ends the campaign well.

“It's fun to train with him every day because he comes with enthusiasm,” said former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard.

“It's low maintenance, and when you talk about the things you want, you try to do them on the field, which is great.”
