When Rudy Gobert checked in 2Q, the Mavs got SIX STRONG BASKETS AT THE RIM. Dallas did everything they wanted without Gobert on the court.

In Game 1, Minnesota's defensive rating was 100 with Rudy Gobert on the court and 165 in 10 minutes. He often thought how he defended pick-and-rolls was smart and not why the Mavs were successful.

Despite being a smaller team than the Timberwolves, the Mavericks outshot them 62-to-38 in the paint and made eight turnovers. Minnesota has very good defenders, especially Rudy Gobert and Jaden McDaniels, two players who were recently named to the All-Defense teams this week.
