Pep Guardiola agrees with Erik ten Hag that injuries are the main reason Manchester United have struggled this season.
The Red Devils endured a poor campaign, finishing in eighth place, their lowest finish since 1990 and missing the club's record number of games in a single season in the league.
It's not just at home that United are struggling, Ten Hag's side finished bottom of their Champions League group, which also features Galatasaray and FC Copenhagen.
Guardiola agrees with Ten Hag
The Holland player is looking to end the season on a high by lifting the FA Cup, with reports suggesting that it will be his last game in charge of the club.
The Old Trafford outfit have expressed their interest in a number of managers including Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter, Kieran McKenna and Thomas Frank.
United will be desperate to stop their rivals from creating more history and becoming the first team to win back-to-back league and cup doubles.
United have been plagued by injury problems this season, particularly in defense as Ten Hag has been unable to field what he would consider his strongest line-up for large parts of the season.
Speaking ahead of the Wembley game, Guardiola admitted he agrees with his part about United's injury struggles.
“In big teams, if you don't win, you're always in trouble”, Guardiola told reporters in a press conference before the game.
“That's not a secret, I would be in trouble if we didn't win.
“He has done some great things and I have a lot of respect for his work in the past
“I completely agree when I listen to him saying that he hasn't had a full squad for the whole season and he's injured a lot.
“They have to think that this is the reason, the players have to live otherwise you can't use them.
“They had a lot of problems after that and the manager suffered a lot. I think the squad is good but if the players are injured you can't use them.”
In the repeat of the 2023 final, City are big favorites for United knowing they must win if they are going to play European football next season and miss out on qualifying for the league.
