Anthony Edwards Responds to Mavs Crushing Wolves in Game 5

Anthony Edwards expressed his disappointment at the loss in the Western Conference finals due to the feeling that his team never reached its potential against the Dallas Mavericks.

“We haven't clicked as a team in this series, not even one game,” said Edwards. “In the last two series, we were all clicking at the same time, shooting and so on. It didn't click all at once here.”

Despite his disappointment, Edwards was optimistic about his team, saying, “We'll be back next year.”

“It's fun, man, I love it,” he said. “… I'm looking forward to being back in this situation next year.”

After having a breakout season in the first two rounds, Edwards was no match for Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks in the conference finals.

Doncic and Irving scored 36 points apiece as Dallas ran away with a 124-103 win to snap the streak at five games.

“We have a great team, but most importantly we have good guys,” Doncic said after the game. “We live together, and we only play basketball.”

Now the Mavericks are heading to the NBA Finals, where they will face the Boston Celtics.

“When you're a kid, that's what you dream about; getting to the Finals and being able to play with the best in the world and watch,” said Irving.

Game 1 of the Finals will end in Boston on June 6.
