Jose Mourinho's post on Instagram seems to hint at the Fenerbahce manager's job

Two-time Uefa Champions League winner, Jose Mourinho, said he is looking for “new adventures” as it is speculated that Fenerbahce are about to appoint a Portuguese as their new manager.

Mourinho, who has been out of work since being sacked by Roma in January, is set to take over the 19-time Turkish champions, according to widespread reports.

“New things for a new journey,” Mourinho said in an Instagram post on Friday, sharing a photo of himself smiling while getting new clothes.

Current Fenerbahce manager Ismail Kartal is not expected to have his contract renewed despite losing just one of his 38 Turkish Super Lig games this season and collecting 99 points.

A 1-0 win at Galatasaray in their first game of the season was not enough to deny their bitter rivals the title with three points at the end of the third season in a row where Fenerbahce finished second.

A right-back during his 10-year spell at the club, Kartal is in his third spell in charge of the Yellow Canaries, having previously been their assistant manager.

If Kartal succeeds, Mourinho will be reunited with many of his former players including Edin Dzeko – who managed Roma before the striker was sold to Inter – and Fred, who he signed from Manchester United.

Mourinho will also be reacquainted with 23-goal scorer Michy Batshuayi, who spent six years at Stamford Bridge after his second spell at Stamford Bridge ended.

Mourinho's next job: Fenerbahce?

Mourinho has been linked with a job in Saudi Arabia and has agreed to appear on UK broadcaster TNT Sports to broadcast the UEFA Champions League final between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.

The photo-savvy Mourinho often uses his Instagram account, which has more than 4.5 million followers, to post about his career, sponsors and news, including a Netflix documentary about him scheduled for 2025.

When he was fired by Roma after a run of form that lasted more than two and a half years, Mourinho described his work with the Italian team as “sweat, blood, tears, joy, sadness, love. , brothers, history, heart, eternity”.

The post received more than 1.3 million likes. Mourinho guided Roma to their first Uefa Europa Conference League title in 2021/22 and the Europa League final the following season.
