Ryan Garcia posted a series of messages today on social media from the hospital, saying he is still upset and unhappy about the situation.
On Saturday, Ryan, 25, was arrested on a charge of vandalism in Beverly Hills for causing an estimated $15,000 in damage to the Waldorf Astoria hotel.
ESPN reports that Garcia was taken to a nearby Beverly Hills police station and then transferred to a hospital for evaluation. It's not clear if Ryan has been on hold for 72 hours or what. Ryan didn't say if this was a 72-hour psychological test or not.
Outpouring of Support from Fans
Most of Garcia's 12.5 million Instagram followers are urging him to snap out of this and get back in the ring to continue his successful career.
Ryan (25-1, 20 KOs) looked good last April, defeating undefeated WBC light welterweight champion Devin Haney via a 12-round majority decision in a heartbreaking victory.
Ryan should be on top of the world right now, enjoying his victory after defeating many boxing fans who felt he was the next Mayweather and making it look easy.
The combination of Ryan's PED scandal, his mother's health problems, and his sudden fame may have tripped up the young star, proving to be too much for him to handle mentally.
Garcia's Appeal for Emotion on Social Media
“I feel like I'm Ryan Spears, Aka Britney Spears,” Ryan Garcia told X, recorded in the hospital. “I have never hurt anyone. I once loved everyone, prayed for people and tried to make a change in this cruel world.
“It's funny that Trump and I are under arrest. I don't know if he is in jail but I know he was convicted. Warriors of prayer. Please, I need prayers. Many prayers. Prayers can move mountains. free Ryan.
“I'm worried 🙁 I have to be in this weird hospital, and they're trying to give me medicine, and they're holding me for who knows how long; they're going to decide. Pray for me,” Ryan said.
