NBA expert Shams Charania reiterated his previous reports that JJ Redick was the favorite for the Lakers' head coaching job from the beginning until the team switched to UConn's Dan Hurley.
While ESPN's NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Hurley was the Lakers' top pick all along, Charania disputed the reports.
Unlike Redick, whose name came up in rumors shortly after the Lakers fired Darvin Ham, Hurley was not mentioned until last Wednesday, several weeks into the Lakers' head coach search.
