More than 10,000 iGolf subscribers have now easily converted to golf club memberships in less than three years, marking a milestone in the effort to encourage participation.
The iGolf program, launched with the idea of encouraging the estimated 2.3 million 'independent' golfers across the country to play more, monitor their performance, and encourage competition, has proved instrumental in creating a pathway to full club membership.
With the average club membership fee sitting at £1,181 and 10,000 subscribers having taken the initiative to become a club member, it is estimated that over £11 million of club membership fee has been stimulated by the scheme, which supports the financial sustainability of golf clubs while enriching the golfing experience of enthusiasts.
According to the latest iGolf Subscriber Survey conducted by England Golf, iGolf's impact on golfing behavior is evident. A large number of respondents (49%) reported an increase in the amount they play, indicating the effectiveness of the program in improving engagement and participation. In addition, an encouraging 46% expressed the possibility of joining a club in the future, indicating a positive change in their attitude towards club membership among iGolf subscribers.
High satisfaction with the iGolf system is also evident, with 81% of current subscribers expressing satisfaction or extreme satisfaction with the initiative.
