Vicario was beaten by ex-Tottenham man Sherwood

Former Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood has hit out at goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario after realizing that teams appeared to be targeting him as the weak link in Ange Postecoglou's side.

It would not be easy for any 'keeper to replace Hugo Lloris, who left the north London club in January after more than a decade at the helm.

Vicario has started well at Spurs, but, like most of the club, is now struggling, and Sherwood did not hold back as he criticized him after the 4-2 defeat at Liverpool at the weekend.

“The goalkeeper has been found. “He was being closely watched and it seems that he is very weak because of the conflict,” said Sherwood. “People highlight that. This is the Premier League. This is the most competitive league in the world. You will be found. Not Scotland, respectfully. Or Japan. Or in Australia.”

It will be interesting to see if THFC decide to look at the goalkeeper position this summer, or if they are willing to stick with Vicario for a while.

The Italian striker has shown promise, so he may need to give him more time to prove himself, but it seems Sherwood already thinks he's got it, so if that view is shared by Postecoglou and his staff it will mean something. a change made in that department before next season.

It is understood that Vicario was not a top target for Tottenham last summer as they attempted to sign David Raya before the Spanish goalkeeper ended up leaving Brentford for Arsenal instead.
