Buckinghamshire Golf Club welcomed guests and VIP members to the grand re-opening of its 17th century clubhouse on May 3 following an investment of more than £10 million.

The transformation of the historic site 15 miles from Central London and 10 miles from Heathrow Airport is part of a major investment to create a prestigious private members club on London's doorstep – and reflects the Arora family's plans to develop a world-class portfolio. golf courses.

Sanjay Arora, President of The Buckinghamshire and Chief Operating Officer of the Arora Group, said: “This is a dream come true. We wanted to do something special here, restore this magnificent house and create one of the best golf courses and modern members clubs in the world. Alongside Sanjay Arora at the ribbon cutting was his father Surinder Arora, a property and hotel entrepreneur and former owner of the Wentworth Club, and Chairman of the Board KP Singh who, for five decades, led India's largest real estate developer DLF and founded the – DLF Golf. & Country Club in Delhi.

As the doors open at The Buckinghamshire, members are invited to tour the beautifully renovated house and explore the luxurious new facilities, including a stylish modern orangery dining room, wine bar, whiskey room, lounges and lockers, and seven new bedrooms.

Following the refurbishment of the golf course and the replacement of the front and back nine holes, the comfort of the Heron's Bar and patio awaits members, with views of the finishing hole and the River Colne, making it the perfect spot for post-round drinks and long lunches.

Sanjay Arora reserved a special thanks to Kim Partridge, the acclaimed designer who oversaw the transformation of Buckinghamshire's interiors. “Kim has mastered our vision of 'membership reimagined,' celebrating the best aspects of the house while creating comfortable, relaxed, modern spaces for our members to enjoy,” said Sanjay Arora.

“While the golf course is an important part of the heritage, the house is the heart of our club and whether members are playing golf, spending time with family, lunching with friends and business contacts, or spending the day working, the house is designed to be a home from home in a relaxing environment, surrounded by natural beauty .”

Arora confirmed there is further investment in the golf course in 2024/5.

As a world-class private members club, Buckinghamshire, which is also home to the Ladies European Tour, will be the home of a growing portfolio of golf clubs and destinations within the Arora Group. Plans to develop the golf course at Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa, less than 50 minutes north of Central London, have been approved as part of a formal bid to host the upcoming Ryder Cup.
