JJ Redick's backwards hat on a recent episode of his and LeBron James' podcast rubbed sports commentator Colin Cowherd the wrong way.
Cowherd looked at the back of Redick's hat and said he “looks like someone who's going to move my couch”, while adding that it's a no-nonsense look for someone rumored to be in the running for multiple NBA coaching jobs right now.
“Don't like JJ Redick's backwards hat. I didn't like it,” Cowherd said on his show The Herd with Colin Cowherd. “I didn't hear a word LeBron said, I couldn't stop staring at the helmet. JJ Redick is going to be looking for NBA head coaching jobs, he looks like a guy to move off my couch.
“I didn't like me, I was going to tell JJ to his face,” he continued. “I'd say, 'Dude, you're going to be great in this league.' He will be a chief executive or a coach.' Whatever, you guys can go back and forth on that thing. I didn't like it. My vision, my plan.”
Cowherd has long opposed the backwards hat and reminded everyone on Wednesday that it's because he thinks wearing it doesn't reflect a professional image.
Redick responded to Cowherd in X, by simply reposting the clip and saying, “LOL”.

Cowherd saw the response from LeBron and simply wrote, “It hurts.”
This won't be the last time Cowherd has a beef with the back hat.
