England will 'look' at Mauricio Pochettino as Gareth Southgate's replacement

Mauricio Pochettino could be a top contender to become England's next manager if Gareth Southgate steps down as Three Lions manager after Euro 2024.

Pochettino expressed his feelings about English football this season, when he said: “We love the English culture and all the clubs, like Southampton, then Tottenham. Thank you for giving the England team the opportunity to have players who get a chance to play.

“I'm Italian through my grandfather. He moved to Argentina, then I moved to Spain and then to France and England. And you really understand when you move countries how people treat you.

“But when we were at Southampton, Tottenham once [Chelsea], the British treated us well. It's a wonderful thing. Not only us, but also our families. That's why I feel at home when I'm in England.”

Pochettino is also being referred to Manchester United if this team will fire under the pressure of manager Erik ten Hag. Southgate has also been linked with a move to Old Trafford, although the Ten Hag's future remains undecided at the moment.
