A reporter confirms that Tottenham have made an assessment of the Premier League defender ahead of the summer transfer window

Tottenham pundit Alasdair Gold has confirmed that the club have assessed Nottingham Forest defender Murillo and Stuttgart's Hiroki Ito ahead of the summer transfer window.

Despite acquiring defensive talents such as Micky van de Ven last summer and Radu Dragusin in January, Spurs remain determined to continue to strengthen their backline.

This desire is compounded by the injuries and suspensions that affected key defenders Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero last season, forcing them to play a more flexible line-up.

Manager Ange Postecoglou has expressed the need to add another defender to the squad. The need for defensive reinforcements has become more apparent following the departures of Eric Dier and Japhet Tanganga, and the expected sale of Joe Rodon.

However, reporter Alasdair Gold in his latest report for Football London says that while Spurs acknowledge the need for another defender, the club intends to prioritize addressing the need for defense later in the summer. Instead, Postecoglou is more focused on strengthening the midfield and attacking.

25-year-old Hiroki Ito and 21-year-old Murillo are both promising defensive talents that Tottenham are considering. Ito, who is known for his versatility in playing both left-back and left-back positions, could provide valuable cover for Destiny Udogie.

Meanwhile, Murillo, a young Brazilian talent who joined Nottingham Forest last summer, provides energy and skill.

Ange has made it clear that he wants the team to challenge for the title and the team intends to build him a squad that will be able to do that.
